My statement

I am a self-taught oil painter living in Oahu, HI. I enjoy painting in a realistic style so that the canvas scenes evoke emotions that allow my soul to travel.

I focus my attention to detail and vibrant use of light and color to capture nature’s awe-inspiring beauty. My passion for the natural world is evident in every dreamlike work of art I create. I absorb healing energy from nature and transpose it to my paintings.

Painting for me is like dreaming, only on canvas.

My favorite subjects include seascapes, flowers, and landscapes. I have studied multiple techniques around the world, combining everything from traditional painting to engraving to form my own unique style. My paintings convey a pleasant, calm joy of life.

They are a window into a special universe filled with happiness and harmony.

I have a Ph D in Chemistry, and I taught math for 22 years. I really enjoy painting, paddle boarding and skiing.
I travel a lot. I observe the beauty of nature, places, animals and people. Traveling inspires me, changes my perspective, and gives me positive creativity which flows into my artwork. In each painting I try to create a special space with its unique vibes.

I’m proud to say that I am now represented by several galleries on the island of Oahu! In Haleiwa you can find my work Waimea Blue Art Gallery and The gallery House of Aloha, and in Kaneohe and Waikiki my work is in the Sunshine Art Galleries. The Sunshine Art Gallery Waikiki location is in the Outrigger Beach Resort, right on the beach in Waikiki! In Hawaii Kai you can find my paintings in Island Brew Coffeehouse. They have a second location off of Ala Moana in Honolulu where more of my works are displayed.
