“When Summer Overflows” was inspired by the simple abundance of nature and the joy of a summer harvest. I wanted to capture the feeling of a basket so full that it spills over with strawberries, raspberries, cherries, wildflowers, and golden wheat—symbols of gratitude, warmth, and life’s beautiful moments. My hope is that viewers will feel a sense of happiness, peace, and nostalgia, recalling the sweetness of summer and the comfort of home. I created this artwork using oil paint and mixed media on canvas because the rich texture brings every berry, flower, and leaf to life, inviting light to play across the surface. Combining realism with expressive 3D texture allows the painting to be experienced not only visually but also through its tactile presence, making each viewing a new discovery.
